Executive earns highest recognition in the Automatic Identification and Data Capture (AIDC) industry
HOLTSVILLE, NY – May 16, 2019 – Zebra Technologies Corporation (NASDAQ: ZBRA), an innovator at the edge of the enterprise with solutions and partners that enable businesses to gain a performance edge today announced that the Association for Automatic Identification and Mobility (AIM Global) has awarded Joseph White, Senior Vice President of Enterprise Mobile Computing (EMC) with the Richard Dilling Award.
The award, established in 1984 and named after industry pioneer and former Vice President of AIM Global, is considered to be the highest honor given in the AIDC industry. It’s been presented to top executives, scientists and engineers in recognition of outstanding contributions that have furthered the growth of the industry through important applications and new technological advancements. During Joe’s three-decade career, he has advocated the adoption of several innovative technologies within the AIDC industry and notably pioneered the Gen 2 RFID standard, leading many of the first passive RFID deployments in the retail, manufacturing and airline industries.
Joe is responsible for directing Zebra’s EMC business, which offers the industry’s largest and most diverse selection of enterprise-grade mobile computers – including handhelds, tablets, wearables and vehicle-mounted mobile computers. During his tenure, Zebra has significantly expanded its industry leadership by championing enterprise-grade Android™-based mobile computing solutions across its portfolio, which now currently has the widest selection of enterprise Android solutions and owns over 60 percent market share. Zebra also shipped its one-millionth Android-based touch computer this year.
Joe’s guidance has paved the way for the development of Zebra’s leading-edge mobility solutions including Mobility DNA™, a suite of end-user applications, development tools and utilities and LifeGuard™ for Android, the industry’s first extended security lifecycle offering for enterprise-class computers. Over the last year, Zebra introduced several rugged mobile computing solutions, among them the vehicle-mounted VC80x, ultra-rugged MC9300 mobile computer and the TC52/TC57 and TC72/TC77 touch computer series. Joe also spearheaded the acquisition of Xplore Technologies, further solidifying Zebra’s position as a leading provider of rugged, enterprise-class tablets.
